The Super Bowl Kick off time for the 2012 Super Bowl will be around 6:35pm EST. This year's TV network, NBC, invites you to begin watching the Super bowl pregame show between 5pm EST - 6pm EST. At 6pm, the starting players will be announced followed by the singing of the star spangled banner. I expect the kick off time to be around 6:35am between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.
The 2012 super bowl should get very high ratings due to the two teams that will be playing.
